10/13-UPDATE:
We did individual research on ADD and ADHD and found resources to use for our presentation. We also have an outline for our work day to accomplish presentation tasks.
Today we made a working outline of our presentation. We delegated research topics to group members and came up with an introduction that is sure to blow your mind!
Anna:
I didn't select the topic, but I am happy with it because it is a topic I'm not too familiar with the disorder and I'm hoping it expands my knowledge.
My concern at this time is filling up the 50 minute time frame.
My biggest asset to this group is I am a good public speaker. I think the rest of my group is as well so it will be good.
Marisa:
This is a prevalent topic in today's classroom's and I think all teachers will encounter some form of this issue at some point. I hope to learn how ADD and ADHD should be properly diagnosed.
My biggest concerns are filling up an entire class period and making the information applicable to our classmates.
I am very energetic and can get people excited about "boring" topics.
Shannon:
I selected this topic because my roommate has ADHD and i see this everyday. Hope to understand the disorder to better understand my roommate.
My concern i have is not being able to fill the time.
I will bring to the group a positive attitude and my organizational skills.
April:
I selected ADHD because I deal with it everyday in the childcare field. I currently have 2 kids with ADHD and one with autism.
I hope to learn new ideas to help kids with ADHD. The only concern I have is filling the whole class period. The biggest asset I will bring is my experience with working with children with ADHD.
